There are two by Mathieu Gaborit called "Fault of Kaiber" and "Ashes of Wrath".

Fault of Kaiber takes place as the forces of Acheron siege the stronghold of Kaiber, a gaint wall that keeps the Baronies of Acheron at bay. The main character is an Cynwall elf named Syd who is party in charge of one of the three factions that man the stronghold (Cynwall, Alahan & Akkylannie).

Ashes of Wrath follows a Ophidian Sydion (hunter of Ophidians who give in to Vice) name S'Erum. Most of the story takes place in a secret Ophidian Library under the city of Cadwallon. The story is a set up for why the Ophidians re-enter the world they have hidden from for hundreds of years.

Both are good reads. English version are hard to find. Took me a few years on eBay to find both in English version without paying an arm and a leg. French version are easier to come by, but still not easy.

Edit: Then there are the Cry Havoc magazines that are full of more stores from all of the Races. Those can be found on eBay or digital versions online.

There are a lots of stories/lore for the Confrontation universe (since it was a miniature game for about 10 years!). It is not complete, but you can check here (History, Armies and Place tags)

http://en.wiki.confrontation-games.com/Main_Page

Or download the miniature game's rules (there is some lore within, bottom of the page):

http://en.wiki.confrontation-games.com/ ... Chronology

PS: Ignore Conf4 lore, it was badly messed up since the game went bankrupt and so they tried to remake it without a proper idea behind

There is an Aarklash compendium that came with the original Rag'Narok rule set. It explained a lot of the different races, conflicts, beliefs and the very origin of the continent of Aarklash itself.

Another good read is the whole series of the Cry Havoc magazine, as mentioned earlier. It has lot's of background stories (and usually very good ones) and also gaming tips and releases of "new" units and factions.

If you are interested in the look and feel for the main location of Dogs of War Online, then you should consider having a look into the Cadwallon Rule Book. Although I do not recommend it only for the purpose of gathering story info. It is better suited for die hard fans (like me) who are still playing confrontation and using the whole world for their campaigns.

I find I'm quite interested in this subject as well. I've been immediately charmed by this setting from the first time I saw the design and artwork for DOWO and also for Aarklash Legacy (which I also have in my wishlist and sooner or later will get).
Does anyone know where one could find that Aarklash Compendium Spawnferkel just mentioned? Or something to that effect? The wiki seems nice, but I find it really confusing (and at times of difficult reading, maybe due to poor translation).
Also, do you know why this game failed commercially? From the looks and gameplay of DOWO and the lore it seems it was pretty competitive.

The best book about Aarklash universe was in the first edition of Ragnarok miniature wargame. I don't know if you can find it on E-bay (I've got my french version at home, sort of a Holy Grail of confrontation players :-P )

They changed from skimirsh white metal miniature game to mass pre-painted, and it didn't work. (Dog of war online is way closer to the skimirsh game, which is better IMO ;-) )
ça manque quand même de compo chêne rouge : Syriak 2nd incarnation (invocation d'animae) + prédateurs sanglants + sentinelle wolfen + guerriers 32

Aye that's good book; it's also linked at the bottom of the wiki page shared by Almanro.
It seems pretty well done, but sadly there's not much in the way of lore there.

(And actually I've also noticed some inconsistencies with the wiki itself; for example in the wiki the Hyena is Darkness and the Boar is Light, while in the 3rd edition book they seem to be both Destiny)

Well, in the end I managed to find sources for both some Army Books and the compendium mentioned above. So I thought I might as well share them with you guys!
Here they are:

- Ram army book: http://www.scribd.com/doc/36245524/Rack ... -Army-Book
- Wolfen army book: http://www.scribd.com/doc/51413407/Wolfen-Army-Book
- Dirz army book: http://www.scribd.com/doc/44778059/Conf ... Dirz-UKweb
- Temple army book: http://www.scribd.com/doc/56290453/Griffin-Army-Book
- Compendium: http://www.scribd.com/doc/86242282/ragnarok-aarklash

Maybe they could be added to the wiki too! (Not sure about the copyright status of these books)
