purchase of units from the store

PostMon Feb 10, 2014 11:30 am

Hi,

I didn't know this, but it happened to me today.

I deleted an undead company I didn't like to start over.

when I selected a new undead company, all the units I had unlocked with real money and money I had earned, where not open for me?

this must be a mistake right? otherwise this is daylight robbery! (making me pay again to unlock the same unit)

what is the point of unlocking a unit with real money, then not being able to use it in the future?

hope you can clear this matter up for me ASAP

many thanks

Hi, there is no such thing as "unlocking units", it's more a recruitment process where you have to pay for every new unit.
Sorry for your loss :(

are you part of the DoW dev team?

if you are, I paid 'real' money for my elite units.

I can understand unlocks using in game 'free' money are gone when you disband a company.

But i cant work out why they wouldn't be unlocked for me when I start I new company if I have paid for them once already?

Like I said, if this is the case then its wrong, and I wont be spending another penny of my money in your cash store, which is a shame.

Hi,

When you purchase a unit from the shop you don't unlock it for futur use, you just buy this one specific unit. When you disbanded your company you also disbanded this unit.

Clearly this is not what you thought would happen, so that's probably something that we need to work on. Meanwhile, you should get in touch with the customer support here : https://support.cyanide-studio.com/

Explain what happened and they should be able to verify it and compensate for your loss.

I can see this is a potential issue for the game unless a system is sorted out.

A player should have indefinite access to a level 1 unit anytime they purchase with real money, as they would if they purchased a miniature. This should occur by allowing users to have as many slots as their are armies or by cataloging a digital collection that is linked to the user.

The key to this would be implementing a level system that provides enough incentive to skill up these units so that players care enough to heal them rather than start them from level 1 again. The really tricky part would be to keep the level system balanced.

I doubt that I would invest real money in units in the game unless there was some permanency to them but I understand Cyanide has probably sorted out some structure already, just thought I would share my thoughts.

as i knew - if you purchased one real miniature then you have one miniature...
