Don't leave the steam forums alone!

PostThu Jan 30, 2014 5:48 pm

I am sorry if it looks like im telling you off but dogs of war steam forums are currently..."wild" to say it with a word. There are no official announcements, no developers presence , no stickie...not even a post redirecting to this forum. Not all (possible) players are looking at this forum and not everyone is so damn crazy about the game to lurk for the official forum. Don't believe me? have a look in the steam forum yourself where i had to actually copy paste your reports to spread the information. I really hope 2-3 days before the open beta you will show yourself on the steam forums or else it looks like the game is already forsaken by the devs - which i know it isn't the reality but people judge more a game by the steam forum than the official one as it is more easily accesible.

One of the aspects that made me like the game (as well as Cyanide) is how the devs are active in the forum. Unfortunately....steam users might feel the exact opposite. Copy pasting your official announcements takes less than 1 minute but shows your presence which is a big plus especially before a product launch.

unfortunately you are a black sheep, i fear. Since the game is available on steam most users will come from that side and check the steam forum afterward or steam positive/negative reviews in order to decide to play it or not. I know it is a free game and technically everybody can download it but often players are even that lazy even if the game is free. It goes without saying that a good communication makes you get better results ;-)

Thanks for the warning, we will look into that.
And thank you for the time you spent there ! I remember seeing Roder there too, your hard time defending the game is greatly appreciated. We will try to be more reactive too.

i do appreciate your concern yet there are still no relevant stickies on steam (and it seems lot of people have no idea about this forum btw). There are some normal players like me who are actually posting your official news instead of you :P
