Single Player rewards

PostSun Jan 19, 2014 2:11 am

I know the game is focused on multiplayer and that's great, but I think there could be more options and better rewards (exp and ducats) for single player modes as well...
For now, in closed beta, I have to grind so much in training modes that it's frustrating... I don't know if it will be that easy to get matches anytime as soon as the game goes open, but I do think it would be better if we had the option to get more exp and ducats from single player modes to strengthen our armies then we do now...

i think training mode is made as a way to "wait" for a real game not as a way to grind your way to glory :D Unfortunately due to lack of players (closed beta) you can't expect frequent matches. I also add that "farming" ranked is better than grinding training missions if you aim for ducats and XP ;-)

But is it possible to play a multiplayer game without using ranked mode? Sometimes you just want to strengthen your army or a specifict unit before going ranked...

But trainings are less stressful for simple fun game after the work or beetwen other things.
When you played PvP you need to be fully focussed most of time ;)

simply put: enhancing AI takes time and money and i would rather see them focus on new maps/units and balance. This is meant to be a multiplayer game not a single player one. I am fine with the single player aspect as i like to try new stuff and have a very relaxed game once in a while but that's it. I would welcome some special challanges if they require you to play single player but remember that at the current state anything invoving AI is abusable...

Indeed I think we all agree with that.
That's why I sugested the option of playing in a non ranked multiplayer mode where you can be rewarded and strengthen your army, but without the pressure of a ranked match.

I also think a non ranked multiplayer mode with decent exp and ducats (compared to ranked) is important to keep new players in the game, because no one likes to be forced in ranked matches when they are new in a game or just want to improve a new army/unit, ending up by losing almost every match and have it recorded in their victory/losses history.

But in case of all Wolfen maps - you don't need better AI - only AP limit of your own forces - and you have nice chalenges ;)

there are the friendly matches for what you are asking ;) they provide you with ducats and renown as well but no XP.

Forgive my noobness, but how can I play this mode?
Do I have to add people as friends to play a friendly match and invite them? If Yes, then I think it should be changed so anyone can just queue for a friendly match just like you queue for ranked mode.

i think all training maps should include ONLY melee based unit and avoid completely caster/faithfuls. In this way Cyanide doesn't have to improve their AI and their training mode doesn't look lame when "caster" classes don't cast.
@rodi: yes you just right click your friend in the lobby and you can invite him to do some match. Right now the system is stupid though as you will queue automatically all your army vs him. So be sure to ask how many AP he wants to play and send the units on mission. Pre - patch it wasn't like this, no idea why it changed =/
