Improvements for the MAX AP / lvl

Hey guys,

I was looking at some numbers, while waiting in Q for a match tonight lol... And I think of something that could be pretty cool (in my opinion at least).

The ability to make bigger warbands earlier on ? I would just love it... I have been waiting to play 500pts since lvl 3 lmao :o

Why not do something like this:
  • lvl 0-2 300AP
  • lvl 3-4 400AP
  • lvl 5-9 500AP
  • lvl 10-19 1000AP
  • lvl 20 2000AP !!!

Would be pretty cool if we could end up being able to unlock bigger maps at lvl 20 and be able to fight with big army, like in Confrontation tabletop :mrgreen:

Anyway, back to Q I go

2000AP !!!

I realy played some games at 600ap and its almost enough for this game.
Fortunatly at higher AP necro are still limited to 3 but that would only force using unnecessary units

fight with big army, like in Confrontation tabletop

C3 armies wasn't so big at all. I knew that unit ap costs was 2-3 times smaller but most tournament in my country had formats of 300-400 points.

at lvl 20 you actually have 1000 AP. 2000 is way too much and without bigger maps it will be quite hard to play. I won't repeat myself here but i really think different AP formats is the best way to go to make everybody happy. I dont think high AP matches are that long if one of the players know when it is good (and polite) to concede.

In theory - yes - especialy if many units rises the chance for several wounds/deaths
but on the other hand - both our biggest (non ancient battlefield) games was quite equal and second one ended with one half dead unit only ;)

I added 2000pts mostly because I love a big battle once a while and I like collecting figs, real or digital, and I would love to see bigger maps one of these days (with more units/far future).

I find that it takes so long before we have a chance to field 500pts that the grind to get there is boring me out of my mind lol...

And yes, cant wait for the new AP MM/format to come out in the next patch SOON (like an admin posted in another thread).

Edit:
As far as RL Tourneys are concerned, one needs to remember that in a PC games there is no need to loose time to go thru your books to find the stats of your Units, no need to loose time with a ruler, no "omg I dropped my dam dice (again...)" and whatnot. You know, the gameplay is ultimately at least twice as fast with a PC game.

having played the game a lot i can say that the renown level starts to slow down at about level 15 (i would say). It is not immediate but getting to 500 shouldn't take too long. Keep in mind that training mission as well as tutorial ones provide you with renown...also some random events can boost it! I used to delete many companies in order to try different units and races"for free" so i could keep the game fresh while waiting a higher renown level (which doesn't get reset as you probably know)

In good battle games you mostly have unit profiles already on the table :P
As fot the rest - some things are faster, some not. But i don't want to spend the whole day to play 4-5 games on PC. Especialy while above certan ap limit - there won't be more strategy or tactic at all IMO.

lvl 9 atm, almost lvl 10 and still no clue when I will be able to play with 500pts lol.
Renown lvling started to slow down at lvl 8 :?

Don't Q for high AP matches then, having the possibility to run big battles with friends for those who could find it interesting aint a bad thing in my opinion. Also, if memory serves me right, confrontation had rules for army battles. Something like activating 2-3 units at a time, bringing a whole new lvl of strategy and tactics.

In any case, a new patch is coming with some stuff for the MM and I guess well see then how it goes and what works and what doesn't.

P.S.: I wish the dam Plumber would hurry, loosing yet another day grrr...

In a Tourney, you almost always have to check up your books a few times before asking a Judge for a ruling, in any real Tourneys anyway...

Tournments in Confrontation 3 or 3,5 (4 was much less complicated) was realy smoth.
Units and skills were card based and our players knew the rules mostly so Judges spent their time playing unranked games or something like that durning tournaments. At least in my country - but as i knew it looked similar in whole europe.

Just to remind you that challenge friend (private games launched through friendlist) are for now out of all kind of limits concerning AP, adjustement, etc...
If you want to launch a 1K vs 300 AP you're totaly free ! :geek:
