I think I do agree with Errol Flynn. The option to wait could still be very long and, and could disabled in case of grave injuries (I read somewhere your units can get "comatose", is that so?).
A deeper injury system à la Blood Bowl would also be pretty interesting, but I guess there're other priorities for the game before that.

In fact, it was the case for a long time in the alpha and closed beta phases of the game.
And it was the main intention about injuries.
But many players complained about this... a lot, really. And also some people from the team.
The fact is, since we were not sharing the Blood Bowl management system (separate treasury mostly, apothecary too), it was inadequate, and we had to make some changes (though I personnaly prefered my injuries permanent, and impossible to heal :twisted: ).


Anyway - we are still not content with the current state of injuries.
We are working on an elegant solution for this that already went through some iterations, but it needs more work.
It will take quite some time to be fixed properly.

I can't even imaginate the flame and hate :lol:
But it could be interesting :P

Yeah, well...
That won't come back in this exact form (and that's assuming it ever comes back, which is a bit unlikely, so..)

But the flame was alive and well in previous versions of the game, yeah :lol:

Why not associate a (little) AP decrease with injuries ?
Not enough to make it competitive, of course, but just a little to help people cope with the injuries.
Maybe we would see more people playing with injured characters ?

option to make free 50 wounds Mages/Necros etc. would be 'not exacly intended' ;)

Well maybe that could be solved by making only some injuries not heal with time? We could have a system like this (bear with my theorycrafting, especially if similar ideas have already been tried ^_^):

- For each company, besides the mercs, you can buy "staff" or "services", among which an Apothecary (maybe naming it thematically to the races). Ideally it could be bought for both Cyans and Ducats, like the mercs. Its function could be to allow healing of normal injuries with time (I say "among which" because such a system could be used to also create other interesting company management options! Think about Trainers, Adventurers with higher possibility to complete missions, all kinds of crazy stuff).
- Injuries get divided in 2 cathegories, the normal ones, that can be healed with cards or the apothecary, and serious ones, which require both and which leave some kind of permanent minor mark. This mark could maybe have both good and bad effects, like "-1 ACC, +1 Fear" for an eye scar. This hopefully should avoid most of the player's protests (they could even be just cosmetic, but I'd like some of them to actually "personalise" the unit; it could even further entice people to buy the naming scrolls!).
- You can deploy normally injured units with a lower AP cost (set depending on the random injury they got), but if in the game they get killed again, they die and are eliminated from the roster. This way we increase the options while creating the theorical possibility for units' death and hopefully creating a counterbalance to the possibility of abusing the AP reduction.

Maybe something could be thought about how all of this would interact with ranked stuff, but I'm still too green to pronounce myself on that matter. ^_^

this reminds mi how current disfigured is unfair for the Lion army ;P

Disfigured should improve your fear if you have it, or your save against if you do not. Otherwise it is just an upgrade for fear users.
