A Few Things

PostThu Feb 06, 2014 10:55 am

Hi All,

As this is still beta I thought there may be a chance to ask couple of questions regarding gameplay and additional features :)

1. Ordering a unit not to retaliate on certain attacks
2. Is there a way to 'respec' the unit? I understand that this forces ppl to buy more of the same to make another build but having this associated to some cost would help with experiments (especially to new players)
3. When you join online game, top window covers the one behind which presents the timer :) You could move that timer to the top window.
4. After seeing some discussions regarding units in Global there seems to be massive amount of people thinking that in 200 AP brackets Wolves are a bit OP. I understand that this game is a port of a tabletop version, but having all that technology you could do a bit more tweaking to enable more diverse army builds to compete with each other :)

1 - but Why ?

2 - nope - at the time you can only take a new unit - but dev confirmed - that the option may be added latter on (but propably for ducats/cyans - i would say)

4 - To be honest first day after the patch i was convinced that Wolfens have really big problem on 200 - but 1-2 harrasing crossbowmans may solve some of their 200ap problems propably.

1 - A wild guess would be : it is to prevent opponents' units to commit suicide on your units on their turn, thus preventing your pursuit movement. You can already do that to a limited extent with the offensive stance order.
Due to game flow restraints, I don't see it happening in the game on any other form soon. Sorry :)

Thanks for your feedback though!
We're closely watching stats to know if we have to take balance actions; it won't happen before several days/weeks however, as we'll need much more that 2 days to decide what to fix, and how.

+ maybe farming Xp on different unit but yours sounds more pro-tactical - and You are the Dev after all ;)

on 200 AP brackets elite units are king or at least this is the perception as you have no efficient way to counter them with a starting warband unless it has one elite unit on it (mind you it is not impossible, just harder). Why so? they are extremely brutal as level 1 with hardboiled (knight and PoB). Skull warrior is more balanced by the fact it doesnt have hardboiled right from the beginning.

Once the players play on different AP brackets and have access to more units i think it is a different story as elite units have the risk of eating all the control spells which are generally not accessible when starting the game

one of current elite problems is fact that
- Alachan Mage have to high cost to be elite counter - at least below 400ap for lev 2-3 and lev 5 for last ap limit
ant lev 1-2 Priest of Salauel is bearly half-counter capable of blocking non Wolfen elite (and blocking =/= countering) ;)

as i said i think hardboiled is the nr 1 culprit in the starting armies as it makes them very hard to kill if you just started the game and do have the necessary countermeasures
