Double Shot: -8 ACC to both shots? I'd rather shoot only once thanks. Why I would ever raise the AP of a unit to take this skill?
played only humans sofar and this is also the most annoying nonsense skill.
11acc(55% hitchance)- 8 acc (-40% hitchance) = 15% hitchance for both shots. (i think even lower because you lose accuracy depends on distance)
And dont forget the cover penalties, so what hitchance? 5%? Not a Useful skill at all. If you really luck you hit once in a match in close combat but archer and closecombat? you can guess how long he stay alive against something..
as i said i think you are mis-using double shot. if your initial hit % is 55% you should not even consider using it. It is a shot-gun like attack, effective in close range (where you get a bonus of +4 to hit ). It is also meant to be used with the lion stance divine favor for extra efficiency, which will leads you to 5 base ACC and you can repeat the missed rolls increasing even more the odds. At point blank (not melee range) vs DOD 11 wolven i got 60% chance for each shot with divine favor which allows me to repeat my failed rolls. vs a DOD 7 units point blank after moving i got a whopping 85% chance to hit with divine favor. If i do not move and i use offensive stance (3 attacks in total) from point blank vs a DOD 7 unit i get 85-90% chance, not bad for 3 attacks. It has also extra benefits with favorable auspices as you know for sure that one will hit and maybe the other as well (still better to have a chance )
i agree that with the skeleton archers that have a lower accuracy and no divine favor it becomes rubbish but lion archers are fine in my opinion, just use it when necessary (same goes for master's strike)
