Steam says January 29th. Is it true?

Steam is informing DoW release date as January, 29th. Did they get it right this time? Is this the official launch for open beta? Are we going to have another patch before that?
I am sure I am not the only one who is very curious now

i hope so because i can't find any game at all these days which is sad because i cant really test. Lot of players i know quit the game for this reason unfortunately altough i believe they will be back when open beta starts.

Yes the game seriously need open beta. It's so hard to find a game in the current closed beta that I do believe further progress would benefit much from the open beta.
Not to mention when I do find a game, chances are that player will be the only one I will be able to fight all day, so there is no variety in matches. If one army is clearly superior, the result is frustrating to the weaker side as he knows he won't get a different opponent and is going to lose all day (that's also why I think we should be able to queue for non ranked matches, so it doesn't get recorded in stone if you lose 90% matches that day)

Does anyone know how many players are in the closed beta at the moment?

Maybe it would be useful to have a "players online"-counter ingame. Would bo helpful to decide, wether there are no games found because of your match settings or the tumbleweed rolling through the deserted servers.

Open beta would be great. But maybe with free cyans, so we can test the otherwise unavailable features.

will there be a wipe of our progresses or only when out of the beta?

I hope no wipe is needed after grinding so much to max level my Lion company , but if a wipe is really needed, please make it now and not when the game is completely out of beta.
DoW will probably remain in beta phase for a long time, since there is still so much to do. Unless they plan to "officially" release the game without adding the two remaining paths for each faction and finishing balacing out all those units, but that would be a weird official release.

We are currently discussing what will be wiped, so we can't answer exactly right now. But we will do everything we can to never need another wipe in the future
