Not true. For the Lion is sufficient now to have a single lvl2 archer (and which composition doesn't have at least 1 lvl2 archer? Also in the lvl5 Mage standard comp I can usually see it!) and you can kill it, since its damage is so reduced (-2DAM allows many units to survive 2 attacks from it) that you can surround it and live happily ever after just waiting for your archer to finish it without losing HP to attack it to do just 1HP DAM...

last golem i faced with two archers - at turn 10 enemy realized that his 12hp golem may not live long enough to draw and quit... but still eta of death was turn 12-13 after last non-golem unit died in turn 2.

also i dont remember when i saw mage with scourge last time and encircling unit with 16 acc and fear 20 is terrible idea actually.

i do not enjoy playing vs legendaries in general. This is not because they are OP or unkillable - which are not...is just that most games go like this:

turn 2-3 -> legendary's escort is dead (2 units in general)
turn 4 -> the opponent uses 1 unit for the rest of the game. I normally play with at the very least 5+ units as i feel there is very little strategic thinking when you have just 1 unit...is like playing chess with 3 queens only.

of course the game must make happy all type of players...is just that i find it sad :-)

This is the issue. Not that they are unbeatable it is that they are far too common and the games including them are poor. This is why I think they should only be available in a higher AP bracket. If that was the case nerfing them would not be necessary. Another alternative is if you want to select a legendary at 400 AP the opponent is informed that a legendary creature is included in the enemy team. The opponent then gets 20-30 seconds to alter their composition. This would avoid nerfing them also, and would make such encounters a 'Monster Hunt' kind of scenario. This would also mean if you are just a bad player looking for easy wins you would get far worse returns, discouraging its use for anything other than novelty value, or because you are good enough to win with it.

While I like the idea of a "Monster Hunt" scenario, the idea you propose to inform the enemy you're using a legendary unit would make all the legendary units completely useless! As you probably already know (since some times, when you face an opponent fielding a legendary unit for a second time it is usual to change the team accordingly), if the enemy has a company full of anti-legendary units than your probabilities to win or even draw are more or less null, independently if you play well or not. In that case, all legendary units should be boosted a lot, but I don't think it would generally be a good idea.

More interesting would be if the devs would implement ranked 600-800 AP matches, eventually in a different ladder, so that playing legends would be more interesting and rewarding.

i only need to switch some units in my warband vs ram - which i always do regardless if the player uses the golem or not. In general worg/chimera don't need any heavy counter...the golem on the other hand...

btw - as you can see my perovious game was also against golem ... but lev 1 + 2 gargoyles and bowman... it was far more interesting when my units was albe to deal more than 1 dam each hit :P

if i would have been the golem player i would have quit at the first screenshot :) He had basically lost at that point already.

at the point of first screen - nope - current golem really need full encirclement (and luck in feal-will rolls for Wolfen-Lion) to be killed... half circled he still have 55% to hit a gargoyle and propably much more Vs scared Lion of War ;p

but the second screenshot was taken - when the first thought "this may not be a draw" appeared ;P

your archers were in such a great position that the golem player could have not done anything (if he knew a bit more how to play he would have either went behind the wall or conceded :P )

Other than that, often missing 1-2 hits (with a good % hit) vs a legendary can have a very huge impact on the game.

archers was dealing 1dmg each shoot :P
