While I like the idea of a "Monster Hunt" scenario, the idea you propose to inform the enemy you're using a legendary unit would make all the legendary units completely useless! As you probably already know (since some times, when you face an opponent fielding a legendary unit for a second time it is usual to change the team accordingly), if the enemy has a company full of anti-legendary units than your probabilities to win or even draw are more or less null, independently if you play well or not. In that case, all legendary units should be boosted a lot, but I don't think it would generally be a good idea.
More interesting would be if the devs would implement
ranked 600-800 AP matches, eventually in a different ladder, so that playing legends would be more interesting and rewarding.
