Lets reanimate Ancient Battlefield

PostFri May 02, 2014 2:26 pm

At the time game have only 3 maps - and i can understand that making a new one from the sketch can take time and resources that could be spent on new units/factions :P

so maybe a fast reanimation of Ancient Battlefield? ;)

For Blue hex covers - Stones from Behemoth map would be enough
For Green hex ones - bushes
No idea what would work for foot bridge so its optional - but i think that Root models on the watter + 1-2 ruin models below would do the trick.

After adding two additional rock in blue dots position - map could be even played both 'horizontal' and 'vertical'.

It may be a nice idea (but only with the additional rocks!) and it would require some testing before releasing it anyway. Moreover, it is necessary to slow down the central passage with slow terrain, otherwise the Wolfen will charge head on on the first turn with their DEF stance on (that was one of the problems of that map: victory/loss depended mainly on who started first! :) )

i agree that new maps would be great but its better to have 4 than 3... especialy while after some fast fixes it can be better than smallest setups of current maps.

as i counted there should be safe zones oven on this setup - and i will be stubborn saying - that Gargoyles are bigger first turn threat than wolfens - and rough terrian don't slow them ;P

I think its a very well thought proposition, it's definitly much better than how the map is right now.

If it's indeed a fast change to do then I'm all up for it.

not exacly - becouse their pathes still can be blocked...

and adding more rough terrian will probably work against them also.
