Are there any plans for unit customization/respecs?

For example, I have a level 4 knight of the lion, but I feel like I only need his level 3 for a given comp. I want to be able to disable his level 4 to benefit from the lower AP cost.
Similarly, if I had a level 5 mage but I didn't need his third spell or the level 5 benefit, I want to be able to tone him down to level 3, and so on.
On the same note, I think you should be able to change a merc's skill tree choices. If there's a level 5 ability that is considered best, for example, then it becomes too much of a hassle to risk experimenting on that choice yourself. You take a point in one ability and you have to buy a completely new merc in order to get a different build.
A lot of this, I feel, is needlessly restricting. It's actually made me want to get up and do something else for a while when I run into a situation where I want to run a certain comp but can't due to AP restrictions, or I notice something about a high-level unit of mine that I want to change.
