I've only played one day (yesterday).
Played for about 6 hours, only got the queue to fire off 3 times.
All 3 games were grossly imbalanced.

To be fair, one of the imbalanced armies, the one with far lower AP (me), actually won. :)

I've only joined after the patch yesterday, but it has been really quiet. Even when the matchmaking constraints drop after 3 minutes. Only had few matches today.

And while we on it. That should be a big flashing sign instead of unreadable small red text on top of the screen.

I know it's closed beta and all, but those training missions get old quite fast.

All these reports seem to indicate that there is a real problem (=bug) with the matchmaking formula.

What do you mean by "grossly imbalanced" ? AP Wise ?
Shouldn't your opponent and yourself be near the bracket max AP allowed by the bracket you were in ?

The 1st game, I was in a game with a player who only had 3 level 1 units, and I had 4 level 2+ units.
I one-shotted the 1st unit I attacked and he quit the game.

The 2nd game, was against the same player. But this time I was 26 AP less than him (because I dont own enough units to get to 300, without exceeding it). It was a VIP match. He left his VIP open and I sneaked in and killed him, otherwise I would have lost.

The 3rd game I was matched against a player who not only had 2 more units than me, he had a level 4 Predator of Blood.
I saw that, and conceded. In chat we had both mentioned that the matchmaking seemed faulty.

It might be interesting to note, all 3 games- both players were wolf armies.

Since then (last night), I havent gotten a single queue to fire.

Ok, thanks for your feedback !

Because what you reported is critical for us, we investigated in depth your multiplayer matches.
It was not an easy task, but we learned a lot about some of our graphical user interface design problems in the process (for this particular case).

I won't reveal any details about your matches here - it belongs to you and your opponents to reveal them as you wish.
However, it helped us realise that players still don't understand fully the concept of AP brackets, and we will take immediates measures to make sure that some of the situations you spoke about won't happen again in the next patch.

Generally speaking, the AP brackets mean that it is allowed to bring any army that fits within the limit that is indicated. No further adjustement is made AP-wise if you go to a 800 AP bracket with an 150 AP army.
So, let's just say that it is a very bad idea to go in a bracket that could match you with an opponent that can (and will) have 60 (or more) AP than you, and that it is wise to aim for a 190 to 200 AP army when you want to play in the 200 AP bracket.
If you can go to war in a "superior" bracket but don't have the AP to meet their opponents on a fair ground, please refrain from doing so.

The 200 AP bracket is here to make sure that you will always have at least one available bracket to play with (as it fits well within the "company creation armies" format, AP wise).
If you can't even play on this one, then maybe wait for your units to come back from their missions, or create another Company that can or recruit more.

From what we gathered, there are also some things that you wrote about your opponents that aren't 100% accurate; I think this might come from several factors but it is really not important at this point. However, if you still wish to discuss more about the specific cases you wrote about, I will happily discuss them with you here or via private messages.

In conclusion, it's not the new matchmaking process that is at fault here, but our user interface, and some stuff that we allow to happen while we clearly shouldn't (like, going in a 800 AP bracket with a 200 AP army).
Thanks for bringing that up - we're already working on the solutions.

i add one more thing here: is it intended that i was matched in the ancient battlefield map despite my lvl 20 renown level? I was playing in the 200 AP bracket with a freshly made company and probably i was in queue long enough to "expand" the matchmaking constraints...but is it intended? From the patch notes it looked like i will never ever see that map again :D

Well, we expected that case to happen on very rare occasions :(
It's a very "closed-beta"-related problem. We hope it won't happen ever again after we go Open...

Basically, it comes from a fail-safe situation where 2 players will meet nonetheless, ignoring their respective ranks, after a very long period of waiting in the queue, and provided that there is no other good candidate for them.

Since your opponent was not allowed to go on any other map than the "Beginner Map", you did meet there.

We are still curious about how you feel about this though.
Would you rather wait much longer to play, to the risk of not playing any multiplayer match at all in your session, or do you prefer to play, even if this means that you'll have to play on this map ?

i Think that in a closed beta whit not many player it's better play more possible to talk about tha game , make feedback .

the beginner map it's a problem whit Leggendary unit's because you don't have time to "kite" this unit btw who cares ?

When game go to open/release version yuo can remove beginner after lvl 7/10 imo because there more ppl that play
