Archer gain double attack from Offensive stance

PostTue Dec 10, 2013 5:32 pm

i thought offensive stance only gives a second melee attack, and archers are unable to do melee attacks.

is this a bug or intentional

Is like that from when i started thegame, the offensive stance give 1 attack roll for 0 def that's how is supposed to work.
What is weird is that for melee class that's mean lose their defensive roll, but that's not for ranged class because they don't have def roll also if in "normal" stance.
Surely use of this stance on ranged is way more efficient that for melee class. I'm not sure if that's intentional or take into consideration by designer but is how it work from the beginning. ;)

Honestly i'm not sure if i like stance or not, they seem to bring some exploit in some situation, but army base stance give some nice diversification.... dunno prob it's ok, but would be ok also without stance.

well the stance explicitly says melee, thats why i was surprised.

it would make sense if its only for melee, because there is a plus/negative for the stance: at the cost of 1 extra attack, it cannot parry. parrying is only at melee range, if the attacker is at long range well there is no downside to it.

i've to agree with you. First of all the tooltip is misleading and secondly offensive stance provides 0 downsides to archers...but then same can be said about defensive stance, as casters use it and attack with it.

It was originally intented to be melee only, and then it ended up working for ranged. The Tootip was not corrected since.

Not sure where the devs stand on that mechanic now, as we have many reports of players finding archers a bit too powerful. We will see how the situation evolves with time.
