injuries

I'd like to put my two cents in on injuries. First of all just tonight I had to spend 6000 ducats to buy four fate cards. That's a lot of ducats considering how much you get for each match. I have a couple recommendations which are completely different from each other so tell me which one you like if any and we'll go from there. First of all if the injury system is going to stay the way it is fate cards should be considerably cheaper considering how often injuries occur. I suggest a 1000 ducats at the most to as little as 500 ducats but I'd feel it's fair at 750 or 1000 ducats.
Now if you're willing to change the injury system I think a rest period of 3 to 5 matches of online play, not training matches would be fair to heal an injury and if you want to heal right away then buy a 1500 ducat fate card. Maybe even something like a character has to rest a day before he's healed or a free fate card for signing at the start of a new day. Lots of f2p games have daily sign in bonuses.
My last idea for injuries is to keep them in the match. What if there was a 2% probability that a hit delivered an injury but make them a little more severe. An example would be say a broken ankle would limit movement to 1 or 2 squares and -3 dodge while a broken wrist would give -3 accuracy and damage. But at the end of the match there were no lasting injuries to go on into the next match.
Personally I prefer my second suggestion of a rest period and a free daily fate card for signing in. The more you play the more injuries you're going to get. Punishing people for playing more just doesn't seem like a good idea. Thanks for reading my thoughts on injuries. I'm looking forward to your response, preferably positive ones.

hey, first of all what i don't like about the injury system is that even in the case you WIN you might get an injury if one of your units died (which realistically will more or less always happen in a balanced match). I would remove completely ANY injury if you WIN the match. I feel ok to be punished as i lose a match but not the other way around!

My feelings is that the injury system should stay as i've the feeling cyanide needs to make some profit also (crazy , i know) and can actually be partially overcome . 1500 is not too high as you increasingly get more money however my selfish side won't be against a reduction as it might allows you more ducats in order to expolore the game and try new units. Another idea might just be to increase the ducats you get from quests as you get rewarded for logging in (more or less your idea without the free stuff but it would allow more ducats and more choices)

just some tips that i found to "fight" the injuries:

- do lot of quests, whenever you log in. I like a starting composition with an elite unit (crane, predator etc...) as you can just send him to missions by increasing your success rate (about 30%!) and increase your ducats. In all honestly im not too big fan of those units other than questing so i dont mind not to have them available.
- pick a unit (either elite or with a high % success) that you don't need for whatever reason or bought specifically for that and keep using it only for questing --> even if he gets injured it will always have the same success %!
- do not be afraid to delete your units --> it is ok to use a fate card on your chimera or level 5 mage but a lvl 3 archer or 2 will get deleted. A lvl 1 unit performs slightly worse and cost only 300/400 ducats and levels up VERY quickly. You could also send them to do the basic training quest and/or training vs IA and be back on business, thus saving about 1000-900 ducats :)
- buy the Cyans (not currently available, i know) --> so far i played 70+ hours on this game for FREE, i bought games that i either finished or stopped playing after 10-12 hours. You really like it and would like to help them improve it? support them and you will have a more relaxed experience without worrying about injuries.

Hi and thanks for your feedback !
Deep Blue did give a lot of good points, so I will simply try to complete a bit.

First, let me say that the destiny card price and the injury system could be rebalanced, nothing is set in stone and developers observe carefully the situation. These elements are definitely staying tough.

Yes, the fate cards are fairly expensive in the early levels when you don't earn that much. However, the income you get from battles and missions will increase as you level up, while the cards will remain at 1500 ducats.

A common misconception from new players is that they should use a card whenever they get an injury. But some injuries are very little consequences depending on what it does and what units it affects. For example, a magician with -1 DAM is no big deal, as his damage is based mostly on his WILL.
Also, as Deep blue said, for basic units, it is very often cheaper to just buy a new unit, that will quickly reach max level anyway.

The choice of using a card should be strategic.

Again, devs are constantly evaluating the system and they read the forum, so propositions are welcome ;)
