Lion warbands

Currently im not shure if there is any resonable Lion build Other than Archers/Valkirie/Mage.
While Wolfens can play anything, and Acheron succeslufy playing Necro/Archer or Paladin/Priest - I don't see another path for Lions. Swordsman swarm can be easily stopped, War Lion works only ith there is one activated as a first unit (so there can be only one usefull at a time), Knight looses badly to feriocious and all wolfens DAM, Massed Valkiries would loose in HtH with specified fighters or get shoot same as mages without ally archers support (especialy by Wolfens with harrasment).

So is there any usefull combination? And if not - what should be made usefull?

next patch mage's base attack will be nerfed and they wont be able to spam it and oneshot...this will impact the build effectiveness to some degree (i guess). Lions play the turtle game in my opinion and they excel in defense rather than offense. Chimera is in my opinion much stronger than the worg (at least in deathmatch) and you should try it out. Knight is also good...i'd use him as a body guard to archers and other squishy units. Knockdown is extremely strong to control units and the knight can easily tank the ferocious skeleton warrios, especially if supported by a valkyrie. The lion of war can actually protect your knight by engaging the archers. And trust me it sucks to disengage a lion plus it is quite hard to hit with arrows. I'd try a build with some archers (mandatory) valkyrie knight lion. Spend my time hitting people with impossible shots (favorable auspices) and rape them when they try to get close.

but its still based on archers and valkirie ;)
It would be nice that each fraction would have at least 2-3 base/core units that are realy base ;) (acheron can play without archers... and ven without necros.. maybe 1 necro can stay on higher AP even with Priests becouse skeletons are great to make priest switching fun even more annoying to opponent// and Wolfens can base about any unit as i see :P).

Unfortunatly i still dont have enough renown for Chimera (same for silver)

valkyrie is pretty strong and probably every comp will have one. My suggestion is: try out something else and report us :) use the light sparkling as support instead and get plenty of mages and maybe 1 knight to tear apart who survives the mage barrage :)

Well in general any nonmixed list would fail hard.
If you don't want to play 3/6 units of your army list (exept Legendary and the fail sparkling of ligh) is pretty difficult made some decent list. Actually any list of lion have a core of mage, archer at least, while i think 1 valkyrie is mandatory too.
You can add to this "base" a lion or two swordsman or a knight. It's a matter of taste and playstyle, all of them are good option also if i'll enjoy more swordsman with parry as knight is a bit expensive at this stage of the game. (300-500 AP)

I don't think that with the new patch the best army composition will change, it will just become less overpowered.

About an army based just on swordsman, knight and lion it will just fail because it's just melee based and don't have any sinergy between units.
